We are a non-profit organization comprised of Shreveport women who recognize a need for change in our city and come together to make the greatest impact we can.
What Does 100 Women of Shreveport Do?100 Women of Shreveport was founded with a very simple concept: recruit 100 women to give $100 (or more) and use these funds to make donations that create a greater local impact. Our contributions focus on supporting local, non profit organizations that promote women, families, and educational programs in Shreveport. 100% of all donations are given directly to the chosen beneficiary and can be put to work immediately.
How Does it Work?
For one month before each meeting, 100 Women of Shreveport accepts beneficiary applications. All applicants must be introduced/represented by a 100 Women of Shreveport member. From the applications received, three beneficiary applicants are chosen at random. The three members/representatives of the chosen potential beneficiaries each make a 5-minute presentation at the meeting and take questions from members. After the presentations, members vote for the applicant/beneficiary to which they’d like to donate. Each member of 100 Women of Shreveport donates $100 (or more) to the applicant/beneficiary with the most votes. This guarantees the beneficiary a minimum $10,000 donation.
Can There Be More Than 100 Members?Absolutely. The more members we have, the greater impact we can make in Shreveport.
